Surreal imagery is being used more and more for advertisements as the contrasting colors and

themes appeal very well to today’s generations.

A prime example is this advert by

Volkswagen in which we can observe a heavy

influence from Dali and surrealistic motifs

such as the mis shaped clock on the tree and

the man with exaggerated dimension where

he his arm and torso are very large, we can

observe two ants in the foreground; Another

recurring theme in surrealism which is bugs,

in sky we can observe a petrol pump made up

from clouds (Morphism)

This advert seemed to be done to promote Vw's Blue motion line where the cars are being advertised as being cleaner and more efficient (We can get this idea from the fuel truck slowly melting away and also from the oil rigs being small in comparison to everything else.
