Task 1 Reporting.

After reading and analyzing this article I can write about how I feel about it, it is a very well constructed article following a well put structure, where there is an introduction, interviews but unfortunately lacking a proper ending.

Moving onto depth and quality of the article it is a very detailed article about the rising trend of selling secondhand clothing, and also the fact that this subliminally related to current events regarding over consumption I believe it’s a well-timed article.

Both roles of the Interviewer and interviewee are carried out professionally where the interviewer is asking questions in a professional manner where they are keeping it brief but still covering all the needed information, on the other hand the interview is answering the question in a professional manner giving their own personal insight on the practice while covering in depth and detail but not stretching it out more than needed.

When discussing clothing there will always be the topic of culture, I believe both the interviewer and interview have talked in a professional and respectful manner to any respective culture mentioned

The story telling element of the article has been carried out impeccably where it is a short – medium length article but the reporter has gone into the perfect amount of detail to keep the reader interested and hooked.

After Going trough the article I can properly write on how I feel about the way that is has struck me, In my opinion the article has been compiled into a very continues style flowing rom one set of information into the other, Having a great intro and a great argument but then again having a very weak ending

Moving onto the depth of the article the reporter seems to have gone into detail, but it has the feeling of the reader wanting more where the reporter has only covered a few brand which have been helping out.

Discussing what the brands have done I feel that the article could have included more factors such as what and where and when and why the brands have done this.

The story telling element of the article has been achieved quite easily and within the current situations it is also rather an uplifting article in my opinion.

The intentions of the reporter are very clear where it seems to be that he/she want to spread the message of goodwill that these brands have done.

The Report I will be further analyzing is the report about selling second hand clothing

I will begin by discussing the overall Style and feel of the article, I feel that the article is a very well structured article and the reporter has found a broad pool of people to interview which helps reinforce the liability and authenticity of the report.

The fact that the article is published on the Vogue website gives the report a great push towards it being a great and reliable source and the fact that the report is using statistics from reliable sources and also linking them is another factor which helps towards the authenticity of the article.

The report makes great use of technical jargon and slang which are also a big part of this culture

One possible agenda that might carry over to this report is that it might have also been a promotion to any of the mentioned platforms,

We can also identify the intention of the reporter which is to help shed more light onto the world of selling second hand clothing and helping increase sustainability

This News Report interview is about the ever growing popularity of buying and selling second hang clothing on the internet.

“It’s young people that shop secondhand the most” (thredUP Releases 7th Annual Resale Report, 2020)

According to the reporter this is due to the fact that younger buys are aware of the repercussions to the environment caused by fast fashion,

Within this article the reporter interviews 5 different individuals who make their sales on popular online platform “Depop”.

The first person listed on the interview was user Vema, who is a 25-year-old – according to the interview she gives the clothing a personification where she says that she thinks everything has a personality; Including clothes.

Going on she discusses on her style and how she picks out clothing pieces by mood and sells them with that intent in mind,

Vema also says that she likes to have a model when selling her secondhand clothing because she believes that’s it shows the movement for the particular piece of clothing.

One common factor about all the interviews which the reporter has carried out is the fact that all the people that are now carrying out this practice are all conscious about their sustainability and focus on how they can help improve the environment and leave less of a carbon footprint on the planet.

Another factor is which is very apparent in this news report is the fact that for most of the interviewed people selling second hand clothing is one of their main ways of income some have reported to making up to $3000 a month – there is no mention of tax within the article

Something else which is very recurring in the article is the fact they al live a frugal life where they re invest all their earnings back into their respective area of expertise – an interviewee mentioned that most of her earnings are spent back into rent.

The next thing I want to touch upon is how all the interviewees all have their own definitive styles and ways in which they dress and live their lives even though they all have the same practice
