This is a color image by photographer Joel Meyerowitz, of a street scene in Newyork which depicts a women in a floral dress on the left hand side of the image, in the middle part of the image we observe a woman in blue jumpsuit with yellow shoes which creates an effect of contrast, right next to this women there is a woman in a white shirt being covered by a male.
This male is wearing a tank top which is rolled three fourths of the way up and he is also wearing purple pants. There is a man entering the shot from the right hand side of the image where we can catch a glimpse of his shoulder.
The angle this picture was taken is at slightly lower than eye level and taken image was most likely taken using a wide angle lens as we can see a lot of the surroundings.
The image is grainy as joel would shoot at 1/1000th of a second thus using a high iso film (iso 1200)
The image was shot in the 1960’s-1970’s, the photographer joel meyerowtiz loved to go shooting in the streets of new York compiling thousands of images, we can tell that this image was shot during that time period due to what the subjects are wearing and also from the cars in the background
In the background we can observe the busy streets of new York with the iconic taxis rushing from one place to another, we can observe large building with massive arch ways, this shows us that the image was taken somewhere which seems important - this could be a contrast to the dark skinned man who seems to be the main focal point of the image or a slight hint to racism slowly ending and people with different background integrating.
The main idea that we can take away from this image is that the photographer is trying to show us how the "Modern" world is and how we are starting to incorporate different cultures rather than pushing them away.
